What You Need To Know About Online Printing Quotes

By Carla Sangaspar

Many printing companies now offer good products in low cost, especially because offset allows for quality but affordable prints. But how would you get a working figure of the prices of the products that you like to have printed? Well for some printing companies, this is relatively easy because they already have online printing quotes available for you.

At times when you know exactly what you want, it will be easy for you to get a quote, but if you still do not know what your need for this purpose, then these are the specifications that you need to know in order for you to get a precise quote from a printing company:

• Size. You must well be aware of the size that you want. It will affect the over all price of the product. From as little as business cards to as big as large format prints, everything depends on the size. This measures the amount of material and ink that the printing company will need to make your prints.

For sizes that are not on the usual range, you might be charged for customization. And it is important to know the customization charge before you actually place your orders. You might want to change your size if it will cost more than your allotted budget.

• Stock. This will determine the kind of material that your order will be printed on. The most common stocks are 14 pt. high gloss, gloss, or matte cover; 100 lb. gloss, gloss text, or matte text, 70 lb. high gloss label, matte label, or 70 lb. uncoated text, in thickest to thinnest order. There are also vinyl, canvas, and adhesives.

You might want to see samples of stock first before you actually decide on what you want. But most printing companies already suggest the kind of stock that would best fit your order, specific to the kind of print that you want.

• Color. 4 color front with blank back, 4 color front with black back, or 4 color on both sides; this will matter with regards to the cost of your prints. The more color you use on both sides, the higher the amount of your pints will be.

• Quantity. Most printing companies have a minimum and maximum number of prints that they do. You might well be interested to check on how the price changes as the quantity rises. This will greatly affect the online printing quotes.

• Turnaround. How many days would you want your product to be finished? This is important as to cater to the exact time that you will need your prints. You do not want delayed prints of course, but if you want a one day turnaround, some companies might charge you for rush, but it is good to find other companies who do not.

The cost is an important factor in choosing a printing company. You might well believe that if it is expensive, then it must be good. But you must also remember that it is not always the cost that determines the product's value. It is always important to check online printing quotes and know just the kind of value you need and deserve for your print projects.
